SIMODRIVE Converter system: Latest inverter Intended For 1PH6 instead Simodrive 650

Hello,
I want to replace a defect simodrive 6sc6508 that is connected to a siemens motor 1ph6163-4CZ06-Z (IEC160) S1 19kW 58A S3=40% 30kW 86A 950-6500u/min, encoder ROD 323 1024p/rev
Z: K42 N01
The motor is driving main spindle at CNC lathe.
Can i use another Siemens inverter?  the setpoint speed is a 0-10volt signal and some start stop etc inputs + encoder.
pleas any advise what drive to use for this.
can somebody point me to the motor data?
Hope you can help me.

Simodrive 6SC6508 Replacement Advice

Hello Christopher,

Yes, you can replace the defective 6SC6508. Considering your application (CNC lathe main spindle, 19kW/30kW motor, 0-10V speed control, encoder feedback), the Sinamics V90 series is a suitable modern replacement.

Recommended Drive: Sinamics V90

Specifically, consider the Sinamics V90 PN (Profinet) or Sinamics V90 Standard drive. A frame size of PXD (20-30kW) would likely be appropriate. Please verify based on detailed application parameters.

Key Considerations:

  • Motor Compatibility: The Sinamics V90 is generally compatible with Siemens standard motors.
  • Encoder Feedback: Ensure the selected V90 model supports encoder feedback (ROD 323, 1024 p/rev).
  • Control Interface: Confirm the V90 can handle your 0-10V speed setpoint and start/stop inputs.
