Hello Friends
We have just completed our first B.Data project. The software capabilities ( Especially reporting ) are quite awsome. However there are several nigling issues, desperately needing improvement so make it a really wonderful package to use for developers as well as users.
I am listing a few issues that we have encountered and would request others to add to the list.:
a)
B.data Mobile
-According to the manual ( Also confirmed by AD Support ) the B.data Mobile supports
Only
Windows Mobile V6.2 which is now long obsolete and replaced by Windows phone 7 and 8 . Windows Mobile Devics are no longer used or available. Customer wants to use this facility. How can we use it in current generation devices. It should be made available for all Major Mobile OSs ( At least Android, WP8 and iOS )
b)
Automatic Emailing
- B.Data currently supports Automatic Emailing for Mail Servers without authentication. Most corporate mail / webmail Severs these days do not allow operation without authentication. Mail Server with Authentcations needs to be supported.
c)
Transferring Project
- It isvery cumborsome to transfer project from one machine to another ( e.g. from development machine to actual machine or for machine replacement ). Porting archived data from one machine to another is practically ruled out. Facility of the same must be provided.
d)
Direct Connection to SIMATIC
- We need to unnecessaily install WinCC( WithLicense cost ) even though same is not needed by the customer ) for dataaccess to B.Data. SIMATIC Drivers should be built into B.Data so that it can directly read tags from at least SIMATIC PLCs eliminating the need of WinCC.
a)Dashboard
- Dashboard objects need to be refined.e.g. Total Energy consumed can be displayed using the "Gauge" function, howeveris is not possibleto show the same using the "Value" field as it is able to display only the last received value and not the total over a period.
d)
Sanke Diagram -
more options need to be provided for Animation of Colors and directions lines.
e.g. for showing direction of power flow based on sign of kW values.
I am sure that B.Data Development team would definitely evaluate these suggestions and provide us with an updated version with these features included :
Cheers
