LOGO! - Projects: Logo....pump Management

Greetings All
I’m looking forsome logic (FBD) to act as analternator to cycle between two pumps, thus providing equal wear. There will be a single input for this operation sequence that will time out the active pump.

Thanks

Alternating Pump Control Logic (FBD)

Here's a basic FBD approach for alternating between two pumps to equalize wear, triggered by a single start/timeout input. This solution utilizes timers and logic gates within Siemens TIA Portal.

Logic Overview:

  1. Input Signal: A digital input signal initiates the pump alternation sequence.
  2. Timers: Two timers (e.g., TON - Timer On Delay) are used, one for each pump's run time.
  3. Flip-Flop (SR or RS): A set-reset flip-flop determines which pump is active. The input signal sets the flip-flop, activating the first pump.
  4. Pump Control Outputs: The flip-flop outputs directly control the two pumps.
  5. Timer Reset & Alternation: When a timer completes, it resets the flip-flop, switching control to the other pump and starting its timer.

FBD Implementation Considerations:

  • Adjustable Timers: Use parameterizable timer blocks to easily adjust pump run times.
  • Safety Interlocks: Always include appropriate safety interlocks (e.g., level sensors, pressure switches) in your actual implementation.
  • Error Handling: Implement logic to handle potential errors (e.g., pump failure).
