We are designing a profibus DP segment. Total length of the segment is 1350 meters. We would like to use 500 kbps transmission rate.
Do we need to consider a repeater for every 400 meters?
As per manual 'RS 485 Repeater
Manual, 02/2011, A5E03382072-01' the maximum cable length between 2 repeaters is specified as 4000 meters. I have attached pdf sheet extracted from the manual.
Does this mean the segment can be extended up to 4000 meters between 2 repeaters without any nodes in between? And another 400 meter from the second repeater on which i can connect the profibus DP devices.
